Brake Cooling Ducts, Trailblazer SS
GM Performance Parts is offering this part kit that includes two large ducts and replacement backing plates to redirect outside air from the front of the vehicle to the brakes in order to better cool them under heavy or performance use. The added cooling helps to control brake fade and excessive heat build up. During competitive driving, the front brake ducts work in conjunction with specific brake rotor shields to reduce front brake pad operating temperatures up to 20 deg. C (68 deg. F) and front brake rotor surface temperatures up to 60 deg. C (140 deg. F). The temperature reductions result in reduced pad wear, better brake pedal feel, and increased brake fade resistance.
